Summer Storms

Monday and yesterday, we had terrible thunderstorms here, with many people experiencing damage to homes, vehicles, and other belongings. Two of my friends went for some time without electricity. Thanks to the Lord, the only damage we had was to our umbrella on the deck. Even our little garden came through unscathed.

Sam had a baseball game that started Monday night and finished up last night, due to the storms. When we went home Monday night, his team was behind, but by the time the game was called off last night, they were ahead. Since more than 4 innings had been completed, it was ruled an official game and will not need to be continued further. Yeah for Sam's team!

With the showers came some cooler temperatures. Last week, we had record-breaking highs, in the mid-90's with a heat index above 100. Today, the high was only in the mid-80's ... much better!
